There are over 12 million women-owned businesses in the U.S. employing over 10+ million employees and generating $1+ trillion in revenue according to the Census Bureau and U.S. SBA Advocacy. Average earnings for women-owned firms increased by 27% overperforming men-owned businesses at 22%. With this fast growing segment, as well as the minority-owned demographic increasing year by year we especially want to highlight local women making impact.

Women Wednesday's First Concert

  • Women Wednesdays Team partnered with several local organizations like WFSU, Blue Tavern to host their first Women’s Concert to kickoff their Women in Music Series. There’s something about live music in person and the turnout on Wednesday night and the support exceeded expectations. Several sponsors contributed towards the event, like Visit Tallahassee, and CityClips (yes!!!). The consensus was we have to do this again because there is true talent here and this platform is only going to get better.

  • Local artists delivered stellar performances and original songs, by viral sensation Star Swain with her powerful voice, the Johnson sisters, International award-winning soloist Haiqiong Deng, and modern folk band Edessa. WFSU did an amazing job with their production and we look forward to seeing the follow-up highlights!

WOMEN OF TLH

  • Terri Ard, President & Partner, The Moore Agency

  • Sarah Bascom, President, Bascom Communications
