Idalia’s Impact

Hurricane Peak Season for the Atlantic Ocean is Aug. through Oct. with Sept. 10th taking the no. 1 spot for most hurricanes recorded | NOAA

  • Note to Self: Do not plan major events around early Sept. In my limited experience of living here for the past decade, my family noticed that hurricanes have hit before or after Labor Day weekend.

  • Post-Idalia: More reports of the impacts continue, including how farmers were majorly affected. A reported estimate of 5 million chickens were killed, not to mention other major sources of food like cattle, corn, and peanuts. | Tal Democrat

  • Google Trends: “Hurricane Idalia Impact” hit GT’s subject line on Aug. 31st, making it the most top searched for the state of Florida

  • Another one is coming, Tropical Storm Lee is making its way through the Atlantic and is forecasted to become a Hurricane Category 4. Lee, currently does not pose a threat to Florida.ICYMI: Ways to Help 🤝Last week was a hot mess for many and life-altering for our neighboring towns, so we’re resharing ways people are helping here:Greater Tallahassee of Chamber | Volunteers Call 850.224.8116Second Harvest of the Big Bend | WTXLFeeding Northeast Florida | NewsNationGlobal Empowerment Mission | WPLG Local 10Multiple Resource Links | Tampa Bay Times
