This gets people (including me) every time. Watch vs. Warning. What’s the difference? This image (above) makes it very clear. Right now as of 11 PM, while I’m writing this and watching Mike’s Weather Page late night live, Tallahassee is currently under “Tropical Storm Warning” AND “Hurricane Watch.” Tropical storm warning meaning “expected” to happen. Hurricane Watch = possibility of hurricane direct impact. Note: Check local channels for latest updates. Experts are saying to be READY by Tuesday early evening (TODAY).

WEATHER TALK

Local
As the emails, school closures, and online notifications came in yesterday, it’s hard to imagine last week that a potential hurricane would have Tallahassee in its path. Idalia wasn’t even on our local radar yet. As a native-Californian and now Floridian for 12 years, I’m still not used to all of this. Here is what I found helpful over the years.
