Capital City Youth Services (CCYS) received a $200,000 grant through the 2026 Chick-fil-A True Inspiration Awards® program, which supports nonprofits making meaningful community impact. Established in 2015 to honor founder S. Truett Cathy, the program annually funds organizations across the U.S. and globally.

Local Chick-fil-A Owner-Operator Terry Widener (Tennessee St.) championed CCYS for the award, highlighting its family-centered approach and its work engaging both youth and caregivers. 💖

CCYS leadership described the grant as transformational, allowing the nonprofit to address challenges early, strengthen families, and provide stability and support that helps youth thrive.

CCYS was one of 56 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive a True Inspiration Award in 2026.

Breeze Airways will launch nonstop flights from Tallahassee to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, beginning July 2. The new routes mark the airline’s first service from the Florida capital.

The expansion is part of Breeze Airways’ broader summer 2026 network growth, which includes several new nonstop routes across the U.S.

💰 Incentives Played a Role: To attract the airline, local city, county, and airport leaders approved a minimum revenue guarantee of up to $3M over the first two years of service. If Breeze meets or exceeds that revenue target, no public funds are used; if it falls short, the difference is covered through the incentive agreement.

🧳 What It Means for Travelers: Residents and visitors will soon have more affordable nonstop flights from TLH to destinations that previously required connections or trips to larger airports. The added service offers greater convenience and flexibility, particularly for leisure and regional travel, while supporting increased passenger traffic and tourism.
