💰🤿 A Scuba-Clad Thief Who Made a Splashy Escape with $20K from a Disney World Restaurant. | NewsNation via YT
A slick thief wearing a wetsuit and scuba gear made a watery getaway, taking between $10,000 and $20,000 stolen from a waterfront restaurant at Walt Disney World in Florida, police said.
The robber allegedly swam up to the Paddlefish restaurant–a replica steamboat–on a pond at the Disney Springs shopping complex in Lake Buena Vista shortly after midnight on a Monday, tied up two employees, and then swam away with the cash, police and sources told WFTV.
He stashed his complete outfit before he walked into the manager’s office as the night’s cash was being counted and deposited into a safe, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Police released a photo of the suspect appearing to spray-paint a security camera while wearing goggles, rubber gloves, and tight clothing. Restaurant employees said he appeared to be about 5’10” tall.
