2025 Discovery Challenge Highlights | FSU News
🌟 With inventive pitches, energetic discussions, and remarkable teamwork, this year’s event celebrated the unstoppable creativity and forward-thinking spirit thriving at FSU.
Held at the Augustus B. Turnbull III Conference Center as part of Discovery Days 2025, the third annual Discovery Challenge brought together five FSU-affiliated startups competing for a share of $85k in new funding. 💰
Each team had six minutes to pitch their breakthrough technology to a panel of expert judges from DeepWork Capital, K3 Investments, and Mobius Care, followed by a lively Q&A.
Congratulations to all participants—Roentgen Matters LLC, Prena, Oxemose Pharmaceuticals, Feel With Me Tech, and Nhu Energy—for their creativity, passion, and real-world solutions addressing issues from healthcare to clean energy. ⚡
Joshua Degraff, PhD (Feel With Me Tech) earned first place and the audience choice award, taking home $60k total for his smart sensor technology that supports infrastructure, telehealth, and smart city applications. Rick Meeker (Nhu Energy) secured second place with $25k for his advanced digital tools that enhance clean and resilient energy systems.
Other standout pitches included technologies for healing chronic wounds faster, detecting radiation in food, and preventing premature births—all reflecting FSU’s growing impact in health, safety, and sustainability.
Supported by the FSU Commercialization and IGNITE initiative, Discovery Challenge continues to empower startups with mentorship, funding, and connections that help turn university research into innovations that change lives. 🚀

Guests saw firsthand how Danfoss collaborates closely with customers to deliver sustainable, high-performance cooling solutions.
