💖 100 Women Who Care Empowers Refuge House | Tal Dem
Tallahassee’s 100 Women Who Care is kicking off its sixth year of giving by celebrating a huge milestone: the powerful giving circle has officially exceeded $550k in donations to local nonprofits! Their latest gift is making a crucial impact for women and children in crisis.
Here are the details on their most recent contribution:
The organization, founded by Karen Dunigan, has grown to include over 270 committed ladies who donate $100 quarterly. This simple model makes giving easy, allowing three nominated nonprofits to present their mission before members vote on the quarterly recipient.
The group donated $28.8k to the Refuge House, a vital domestic violence shelter providing 24/7 crisis intervention, mental health services, legal assistance, and safe haven for victims and their families. Refuge House is working to meet increased demand; they currently turn away up to 100 women and children each month. The funds will help address urgent repairs and support the capital campaign to more than double the number of available beds.
