šŗāØ Marching 100 Honors Michael Jacksonās Legacy | FAMU
Florida A&M Universityās legendary marching band, Marching 100, has taken center stage in a nationwide tribute honoring the pop icon, Michael Jackson, ahead of the release of the biographical film MICHAEL by Lionsgate, set to hit theaters on April 24th.
In the 1-min and 50āsec. promo, the band delivers a powerful rendition of MJās classic āDonāt Stop āTil You Get Enough,ā led by the universityās first female head drum major, Oluwamodupe āDupeā Oloyede. Fun Fact: She was part of the opening performance of āI Lied to Youā at the 98th Academy Awards. | Tal Dem
This song earned MJ his first of 13 Grammys on Feb. 27, 1980. The fiveātimeāplatinum single also topped the Billboard Hot 100 and won āFavorite Soul/R&B Singleā at the 1980 American Music Awards.
This initiative highlights how Jacksonās groundbreaking artistry still resonates, especially at HBCUs where music and performance shape community identity.
Other HBCU bands, including Southern Universityās Human Jukebox and Jackson Stateās Sonic Boom of the South, are also featured in the tribute series, inviting fans and communities to celebrate and share their performances online.
