🎺 HERstory in Step: FAMU & FSU Name Female Head Drum Majors | Tallahassee Democrat
For the first time in its 79-year legacy, FAMU’s Marching 100 has named a woman, Oluwamodupe “Dupe” Oloyede, as Head Drum Major.
Over at FSU, Kate Curley becomes the sixth woman in history to lead the Marching Chiefs, joining a small but powerful legacy of trailblazers dating back to the 1980s.
Both of Tallahassee’s college marching bands are being led by female head drum majors for the first time in history.
"I hope this moment reminds young women that they don't have to wait for permission to lead, whether it's on the field or in life. You're allowed to take up space, to be powerful and to be excellent," Curley said in an interview with the Tallahassee Democrat. 💥

💇♀️ August's Business Specific Grant: Hair Care & Skincare | WomensNet
WomensNet is awarding a $10,000 grant this August to a female-owned business in the hair care or skincare space, whether you're styling, formulating, or running your own salon or spa.
While women make up 90% of the hair care industry, many still face funding gaps that make it hard to grow their services or scale their brand.
This grant is part of WomensNet’s monthly “Business Specific” series, and your single Amber Grant application makes you eligible for this and all other grants they offer. | Learn More
