Florida State University was awarded a major SHIELD contract by the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, earning recognition as an official program awardee supporting next-generation homeland defense efforts.
The award enables FSU to compete for defense projects focused on detecting and countering advanced aerial threats, including ballistic, hypersonic, and cruise missiles. 💥
As a selected award recipient, FSU joins an elite group of research institutions and defense contractors eligible for major task orders and collaborative defense initiatives.
College of Engineering will lead awarded projects alongside research centers specializing in aerospace, power systems, advanced materials, magnets, and cybersecurity.
