👏🏼🩵 North America’s top advocate for entrepreneurship education has named Tallahassee State College (TSC) the 2025 Entrepreneurial College of the Year. | NACCE
TSC has stood out as an entrepreneurial leader with initiatives including:
Reef restoration and sustainability: TSC’s Wakulla Environmental Institute partnered with the USDA and Tall Timbers to deploy 1,000+ reef domes off Wakulla County, supporting oyster growth, reducing erosion, and combating sea-level rise.
Advancing artificial intelligence: With the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, TSC launched the AI Innovation Summit and now co-hosts monthly AI webinars. President Jim Murdaugh also represented TSC at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva.
Workplace excellence: TSC earned national recognition as a Great College to Work For® (2025), a NISOD Most Promising Place to Work, and received the 2024–2025 Innovation of the Year Award for its data-driven professional development program.
NACCE President Rebecca Corbin credited Jim Murdaugh’s visionary leadership for TSC being named Entrepreneurial College of the Year. Murdaugh said the award reflects TSC’s culture of innovation, collaboration, and community impact. "On behalf of TSC, I am honored to accept NACCE's Entrepreneurial College of the Year Award," said Murdaugh. "This recognition affirms the spirit of innovation and collaboration that defines who we are as an institution. By fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, we empower our faculty, staff, and students to turn challenges into opportunities. This is a reflection of the collective energy, creativity, and commitment that make TSC a force for positive change.”

❄️🥶 While Florida is known for mild winters, frosts and freezes do occur—especially in the North and Panhandle regions. Understanding when and where cold weather hits can help residents, growers, and property owners prepare.
What Causes Frost? According to a local study linking temperature and dew point to frost development, patchy frost may occur at 38–42°F, more widespread frost at 33–37°F, and widespread frost or freezing conditions at 32°F and below. | National Weather Service
Florida typically experiences short-duration freezes, often overnight with warming by mid-morning. Winter frosts and freezes are common in Tallahassee, with advisories near freezing and occasional hard freezes. The first freeze usually arrives in late November, and even light freezes can impact plants and pets; the city’s record low is -2°F (1899). ☃️ | Learn More
