🎙️ Tangela Lofton on CityClips Live Ep. 109

  • Julia had the pleasure of featuring Tangela Lofton, the Regional Director at Florida SBDC at FAMU. | CityClips Live Ep. 109

  • Tangela Lofton provides strategic leadership and oversees business consulting and support services across an eight‑county region in North Florida.

  • Here are the takeaways of her interview with Julia:

    • They’re working to raise awareness of free business support available to entrepreneurs across North Florida. Although housed at FAMU, the SBDC serves the entire community—not just students or specific groups. Its services are fully funded by state and federal partners and available at no cost to any business with 499 or fewer employees, providing expert advisory support across all industries.

    • Her personal motto, “Do it scared,” reflects her belief that many barriers are self-imposed. Progress often requires moving forward despite fear, uncertainty, or imperfect conditions.

    • One of the biggest lessons she shared is that growth starts with getting your financial documentation in order. No matter how innovative or creative your business is, lasting success requires a strong financial foundation.
