📈 Top 5 in the Nation Among Mid‑Sized Metro Areas according to Area Development magazine’s 2025 rankings (population roughly 200,000–500,000).
✔ Growing job market: Over 2,100 new private‑sector jobs were added in 2025, especially in construction, healthcare, and professional services.
✔ A skilled workforce: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) employment is helping fuel this growth and attract new talent.
✔ Opportunity for future careers: Local leaders point out that this data shows real opportunities for recent graduates and young professionals, not just traditional government roles.
👏🏻 “All these things, kind of, point to growth for our community that’s being fueled by talent,” Director of the Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality (OEV) Keith Bowers said. “It’s also a great indication of the opportunity that exists here. We’re starting to see higher wages and higher participation rates in the workforce.”

✅ Health Stats: How Is a City’s Health Measured? | WalletHub
WalletHub evaluated more than 180 U.S. cities to determine which places best support healthy living. The rankings looked at health indicators across four categories: healthcare, food, fitness, and green space.
🌎 What Makes a City “Healthy”? WalletHub measured cities using 41 indicators, including: Access to doctors and mental health professionals, availability of healthy restaurants and nutrition resources, physical activity levels and recreation access, parks, walkability, and outdoor space.
Each city received a score based on how favorable its conditions are for maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
🏆 The Healthiest Cities in America: The top five are San Francisco, CA; Honolulu, HI; Seattle, WA; Salt Lake City, UT; and San Diego, CA.
