🦫💰 Buc-ee’s Spends Big to Open in the Capital | Tal Dem
Buc-ee's spent big to buy land for a new store in Tallahassee, adding the capital to its growing list of locations.
The Texas-based store chain bought 30.77 acres for about $10.7M, according to property records. The site sits at Capital Cir. NW and Interstate 10, where an outlet mall was once planned but never built.
Earlier this year, the Tallahassee Democrat reported plans for a massive 75,000 sq. ft. store with 120 pumps, nearly 800 parking spaces, and additional spots for electric vehicles.
According to Leon County Administrator Vince Long, the project would fall within the 73-acre Park Place Planned Unit Development. He said the designation signaled eventual development at the site–it was just a matter of timing and details.
The chain already has stores in Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, with new locations planned for Ocala and Fort Pierce. 🏪
