🦫💰 Buc-ee’s Spends Big to Open in the Capital | Tal Dem

  • Buc-ee's spent big to buy land for a new store in Tallahassee, adding the capital to its growing list of locations.

  • The Texas-based store chain bought 30.77 acres for about $10.7M, according to property records. The site sits at Capital Cir. NW and Interstate 10, where an outlet mall was once planned but never built.

  • Earlier this year, the Tallahassee Democrat reported plans for a massive 75,000 sq. ft. store with 120 pumps, nearly 800 parking spaces, and additional spots for electric vehicles.

  • According to Leon County Administrator Vince Long, the project would fall within the 73-acre Park Place Planned Unit Development. He said the designation signaled eventual development at the site–it was just a matter of timing and details.

  • The chain already has stores in Daytona Beach and St. Augustine, with new locations planned for Ocala and Fort Pierce. 🏪
