Over the years, Publix stores have received multiple bonus commissions from the Florida Lottery for selling winning tickets.
Florida Publix stores have sold winning Powerball and Mega Millions tickets over the years, but corporate policy prevents them from discussing lottery winners.
Several Publix shoppers scored big last month after buying Florida Lottery tickets at their local stores. In just over a week, 10 Publix locations across the state sold Fantasy 5 tickets worth $30k or more, including one jackpot of $23k. One of these winning tickets was sold at the Publix near the University of Florida campus.
In 2016, a Melbourne Beach Publix sold one of three tickets for the first $1B Powerball prize. In 2023, a Neptune Beach store set a Mega Millions record with a $1.58B prize. The chain has also sold several $1M+ tickets and millions in Fantasy 5 winnings.
Can Florida Lottery winners remain anonymous? Florida law generally requires that the Florida Lottery disclose winners’ names, city of residence, game, date, and prize amount to anyone who requests it. However, winners of prizes $250k or more can have their names temporarily withheld from public disclosure for 90 days after claiming the prize, unless they choose to waive that protection. Lottery experts and lawyers note that there are legal ways for winners to remain anonymous in certain circumstances.

“I did 3 months of work in just 2.5 weeks using Focus Blocks. I have been struggling with ADHD since I was 12. I tried everything - courses, seminars, therapy, books etc. Nothing worked. Even ADHD medicines didn't keep me focused. But Focus Blocks finally gave me the Focus I was desperately looking for all my life." – Akash Thakkar, Game Audio and Sound Designer at akashthakkar.com
