🤩 Tallahassee-Leon County GDP Growth Surpasses State and National Averages | OEV
Tallahassee-Leon County’s GDP grew 4.3% in 2024, outperforming both Florida (3.3%) and the U.S. (2.8%), signaling strong regional economic momentum.
This marks the first time since 2007 that the region’s growth exceeded both state and national levels in the same year, highlighting a major economic milestone.
The region’s economy reached $21.3B in real GDP, with sustained growth of 9.3% since 2022 and 15.9% since 2021, reflecting steady post-pandemic expansion.
Growth is driven largely by the private sector (76% of GDP), alongside 2,100 new jobs, strong workforce rankings, and its role as a regional employment hub drawing workers from surrounding areas.
“These results reinforce that Tallahassee-Leon County’s collective efforts are on the right trajectory,” said Keith Bowers, Director of the Office of Economic Vitality. “GDP growth is a strong indicator of economic vitality, demonstrating that our regional economy is expanding, diversifying, and becoming increasingly competitive.”
