Tallahassee Chamber’s Annual Breakfast Meeting continues to push job creation as a top priority for Tallahassee's economy. 📈

  • Tallahassee is expected to attract 18,000 more residents by 2030. Population increase necessitates a need for at least 9,500 new jobs to remain competitive.

  • In 2023, Amazon opened its robotic fulfillment center off Mahan Drive and created more than 1,300 jobs. JetBlue recently launched its new direct flight route from Tallahassee to Fort Lauderdale.

  • Chamber President and CEO Sue Dick said this is the year of "opportunity and recognition of what the community has to offer."  She said now is the time to capitalize on the momentum and act with a sense of urgency in promoting Tallahassee as an attractive city for businesses to grow and relocate.

The real estate program in Florida State University’s College of Business is ranked No. 2 in ‘REAL’ global research rankings | FSU News

  • The latest Real Estate Academic Leadership (REAL) rankings for authors and institutions show FSU’s real estate faculty tied at No. 2 with National University of Singapore

  • FSU’s Tingyu Zhou ties for the No. 4 ranking, while fellow faculty member Chongyu Wang ties for 10th in the world. These two faculty members are ranked in the Top 10 according to worldwide rankings that measure research productivity in the top three real estate journals.

Florida A&M University (FAMU) has launched the Digital Rattler Initiative (DRI) in collaboration with Apple. The Digital Rattler Initiative was piloted in 2023 among a small cohort of students within the First-Year Experience program at FAMU. It has since grown into a comprehensive effort supported by the Office of the Provost aimed at equipping FAMU students with the skills, knowledge and resources necessary to thrive in the digital era.

  • 800 first-year students will receive iPads and access to digital apps that focus on developing three 21st Century Skills—learning, literacy, and life

  • Upon graduation, students may purchase their iPad for $1.
