Isaiah Major named Stats Perform All-American
FAMU linebacker Isaiah Major, coming off an MVP performance in the 2023 Celebration Bowl win versus Howard, received more national recognition and was named to the Stats Perform All-American list.
Finishing the season named the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year
Recorded the game-sealing interception in the 2023 Celebration Bowl, finishing the game with six tackles, one tackle for loss, and an interception

Onyi Echegini Wins Honda Sports Award
Florida State women's soccer's star forward Onyi Echegini was named the Honda Sport Award winner for women's soccer.
Echegini is just the third Seminole to win the award, joining Natalia Kuikka (2018) and Jaelin Howell (2021).
Echegini was chosen by a vote of administrators from over 1,000 NCAA member schools.
Her 16 goals were tied for the eighth-most in school history and the most goals since Deyna Castellanos in 2017.
Echegini was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Year and was the ACC Tournament MVP. Echegini is also nominated for the MAC Hermann trophy which will be announced on Jan. 5th.

The 2024-25 Leon County Schools academic calendar is out!
Check out Leon County Schools' calendar for 2024-2025, with holidays and other info. Marked with 175 days of instruction for students and 12 teacher planning days.
First day of school: Aug. 12th. Teachers will be back to work starting Aug. 2nd.
Thanksgiving Week: LCS students will be out of school starting Monday, Nov. 25th for Thanksgiving which falls on Thursday, Nov. 28th. Schools will be closed the entire week and students will return Monday, Dec. 2nd.
Winter Break: Students will be out of school Dec. 23rd through Jan. 7, 2025. They will return to classrooms on Wednesday, Jan. 8th.
‘25 Spring Break: March 10th through Friday, March 14th. Monday, March 17th, students will be out of school for the teacher workday and will return Tuesday, March 18th.
‘25 Last Day of School: Leon County Schools students will have their last day of school on Friday, May 23rd.
