✨ Big Bend Cares / Care Point marks 40 Years with a change in leadership. | Big Bend Cares

  • Big Bend Cares / Care Point celebrates its 40th anniversary of delivering comprehensive care and advocating for sexual health for individuals with HIV/AIDS in the eight-county region surrounding Tallahassee. 💕

  • Big Bend Cares, originally known as Tallahassee AIDS Support Services (TASS), was formed in 1985 by volunteers to provide supportive services to local individuals with HIV/AIDS. In 2017, it expanded by opening Care Point Health and Wellness. The vision for Care Point was to be a one-stop-shop where clients and community members can receive primary care, radiology, dental, prescription refills, and lab work all in one location.

  • After a thorough nationwide search, the Board of Directors announced that Amber R. Tynan will be the new CEO of the agency. Her vast leadership experience and deep understanding of the community make her an excellent fit to lead the organization into its future. She will join the agency as President on April 1st, and assume the official role of CEO on October 1st.

  • Prior to joining the agency, Amber served as Executive Director of United Partners for Human Services and has more than 18 years of nonprofit management experience.

  • “I am deeply honored to join Big Bend Cares / Care Point at such a pivotal moment. I look forward to building on our proud legacy and furthering our mission to enhance community health and wellbeing through strategic, compassionate care,” said incoming President Amber R. Tynan.
