Michelle Kang recently made a historic investment in U.S. soccer and women's sports, pledging $30 million over the next five years. This contribution is expected to create over 100,000 new opportunities for women and girls in soccer.
Michelle Kang was born in Korea and came to the U.S. to study. She started her career as a partner with Ernst & Young and joined Northrop Grumman as vice president. Currently, she is known as an American businesswoman, philanthropist, investor, and owner of multiple professional sports teams.
In 2008, she founded Cognosante to disrupt and challenge the current situation of the U.S. healthcare system and after having millions in revenue, it was acquired by Accenture Federal Services.
She built Kynisca, the first multi-team global organization dedicated to women’s soccer. She owns multiple soccer teams and one of which is Washington Spirit that recently lost to Orlando Pride in NWSL’s Final Championship ‘24.
