‼️🎉 Florida State University invites alumni, students, parents, and friends to join the 2024 Homecoming celebrations until Sunday, Nov. 24. This year’s theme, “Tuned in to Tradition,” promises a week packed with events celebrating Seminole spirit and legacy. | FSU News

  • Grand Marshal: FSU alumnus Bert Kreischer, comedian, actor, and podcast host, leading the 2024 Homecoming Parade today, which started from Civic Center Parking Lot (505 W. Pensacola Street).

  • Road Closures: Began at 1:40 p.m. on Macomb St., College Ave., Copeland St., and Jefferson St.

  • Parade Route: Floats start on Macomb St., head west on College Ave. to Westcott, turn south on Copeland St., and finish east on Pensacola St.

Here are the local groups and organizations that will host free Thanksgiving dinners:

  • The Salvation Army (2410 Allen Road) - Nov. 27, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • The Tallahassee Thanksgiving Celebration (American Legion, 229 Lake Ella Drive - hosted by Premier Homes and local groups) - Nov. 28, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It was established in 1984 to serve the homeless.

  • Project Annie (625 W. Fourth Ave) - 26th annual Thanksgiving dinner - Nov. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Founder Annie Johnson, who began this tradition in 1998, needs volunteers to help serve thousands in the Frenchtown neighborhood.

  • Friendsgiving (The Sound Bar) - Nov. 28, 6 p.m. It’s a potluck, so feel free to bring a dish to share, but don’t worry if you can’t—there will be plenty for everyone.

  • Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church (Walker Ford Community Center, 2301 Pasco Street) - Nov. 28, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
