🏢 Trimble opens Technology Lab at Florida A&M University, marking a new HBCU collaboration. | FAMU LI Post
Florida A&M University (FAMU) and Trimble recently celebrated the grand opening of the new Trimble Technology Lab. This exciting milestone makes FAMU the first Historically Black College and University (HBCU) to host this lab, opening educational opportunities for students.
The Trimble Technology Lab is set to change the learning experience for students in architecture and construction engineering. It will provide access to modern technology and software, equipping students with the skills and resources they need to thrive in their future careers in the industry.
Trimble has generously donated advanced software and hardware for the lab, along with a grant from the Trimble Foundation Fund to support the renovation of classroom spaces. FAMU is the first institution to receive this grant in connection with establishing a Trimble Technology Lab which shows the company's commitment to support education.
The lab features a wide range of Trimble’s top tools and software, including the Trimble Ri robotic total station, XR10 HoloLens hardhat, RealWorks scanning software, and popular 3D modeling programs like SketchUp. This cutting-edge technology will give FAMU students a strong advantage as they prepare for careers in the construction industry. 👷🏻

💧 Flooding prevented because of Flood Barriers | AquaFence
AquaFence, an innovative and portable flood protection system, provides rapid, reusable barriers to safeguard properties from rising water levels and severe weather conditions.
Tampa General Hospital successfully tested its flood barrier during Hurricane Helene and reactivated it as Hurricane Milton approached, ensuring protection from potential flooding. ⚠️
Last month, Hurricane Milton made landfall as a Category 3 hurricane near Sarasota, bringing a storm surge of six to nine feet and breaking records in the Tampa Bay area. The National Weather Service had warned it could be the worst storm to impact the region in over 100 years.
Thanks to the AquaFence flood barriers, Tampa General Hospital remained operational during the storm, while many other healthcare facilities suspended services.
