Milton has intensified into a hurricane and landed Wednesday evening, as Floridians recover from Helene. 🌧️☔
Made landfall on Wednesday evening along the Gulf Coast of Florida as a destructive and life-threatening Category 3 hurricane
A major hurricane means at least a Category 3 storm, which drives winds of 111 to 129 mph and can cause "devastating damage," according to the National Hurricane Center.

Florida A&M University (FAMU) celebrated its birthday with a wreath-laying ceremony of “Excellence with Caring” at the eternal flame.
DYK: It was established on Oct. 3, 1887, the HBCU (Historically Black College or University) was known as The State Normal College for Colored Students, beginning classes with 15 students and 2 instructors.
The event featured FAMU Interim President Timothy L. Beard, Ph.D., alongside 3 former presidents.
Student leaders reflected on the significance of the FAMU legacy, emphasizing the university's progress and future goals.
The ceremony concluded with a performance by students from the FAMU Essential Theater and remarks from President Beard, who highlighted FAMU's academic achievements and its commitment to research and innovation.
