Office of Economic Vitality receives 2024 IEDC Excellence in Economic Development Silver Award for Economic Development Organization (EDO) of the Year | OEV
The Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality (OEV) also receives a Bronze Award for championing Economic Equity and Inclusion through the Amazon Tallahassee Robotics Fulfillment Center project.
The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) is a non-profit, non-partisan membership organization serving economic developers. With more than 4,500 members, IEDC is the largest organization of its kind.
The IEDC’s annual Excellence Awards recognize organizations that show outstanding performance in the field of economic development. The judges emphasized the crucial role played by OEV in generating employment, drawing significant investments, and bolstering economic stability during their review.
Among the accomplishments noted were OEV’s $1 billion economic impact in its first five years, securing the Amazon Tallahassee Robotics Fulfillment Center—the region’s largest private-sector job creator—and earning the distinction from Area Development magazine as the strongest economy in the U.S.
These accolades will be celebrated alongside other distinguished awardees at the IEDC 2024 Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado from September 15th to 18th.
