During the recent Blueprint Intergovernmental Meeting, Bill Lickson, Director of the North Florida Innovation Labs (NFIL), provided updates to the board. | City of TLH Meetings YT
Supported by the Blueprint investment, NFIL will boost the region’s economy by nurturing entrepreneurs through state-of-the-art wet lab facilities and maker spaces.
The incubator is designed to accelerate innovation and commercialization offering resources and support to early stage scientific ventures. It aims to drive breakthroughs in biotechnology engineering and other sciences, positioning North Florida as the hub for cutting edge research and development.
Blueprint’s investment of $2.5M allowed NFIL to take on $12M in federal money and create a new place for innovation in the community.
40,000 sq. ft. of lab space and offices for private enterprises.
Bill was recently appointed to be on the OEV Leadership Council for Applied Sciences

COMMUNITY BOOTCAMP

JMI announced the launch of their newest program, the Community Bootcamp for Entrepreneurs. Presented by the Jim Moran Institute, Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship, and the newly formed Leon Entrepreneurship and Adversity Program (LEAP). | JMI
Program participants will benefit from a hands-on exposure to the fundamentals of launching and growing a successful venture. Taught by seasoned faculty, subject matter experts and successful entrepreneurs, the program occurs on six consecutive Saturday mornings in the fall from 8:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m., followed by a networking lunch.
Topics covered address all facets of a successful venture, ranging from the development of a viable business concept to understanding your market, designing your profit model, setting up operations properly, marketing your venture, and understanding the basic numbers
