Emma Cate Duggar earned a $277,720 scholarship to Mount Holyoke College, in South Hadley, Massachusetts. | Tal Dem
Emma Cate Duggar, 18, is passionate about love. In an essay, she said, "you're defined by love, not hate." Her inspirational words in the essay, has earned her a $277,720 scholarship over four years to Mount Holyoke College. According to the school's website, the estimated cost of attendance is $86,702 annually.
Mount Holyoke, established in 1837, is recognized as the first full-fledged college for women in the country.
Emma Cate has been homeschooled since kindergarten. Her first time in a traditional classroom setting was when she was 14 and started taking courses at Tallahassee Community College.
She will be the first of her siblings to travel across state lines for her postsecondary education. She is set to start at the college in the fall.

COCA / Tallahassee Arts recently honored the winners of Creative Tallahassee 2024. It is an annual juried art exhibition of 2-D and 3-D media at the City Hall Art Gallery. COCA shows the artwork of approximately 35-40 local and regional artists every year in this exhibition. This year, they asked artists to submit artwork which represents their interpretation of the Bicentennial and the Tallahassee arts community‘s past, present, and future. | Tallahassee Arts IG

Adrienne Johnston is the President and CEO of CareerSource Florida. CareerSource Florida is the statewide workforce policy and investment board of business and government leaders charged with guiding workforce development for the state of Florida.
Adrienne is focused on achieving Governor DeSantis’ goal that Florida will be No. 1 in workforce education by 2030.
She most recently served as deputy secretary of the Department of Economic Opportunity’s Division of Workforce Services and chief economist for the Department of Economic Opportunity, positions she held since November 2020.
She was recently featured on Small Biz Florida by Florida SBDC Network where she talked about workforce development and CareerSource Florida's success in expanding Florida's labor force. | LI
