Tallahassee City Commission will receive an update related to the construction of the new Tallahassee Police Department headquarters. Located at Northwood site near the North Monroe and Tharpe Street intersection. | Tallahassee Reports
Based on the 60% completed design documents for the construction project, staff reports that the anticipated cost for the 137,000 square-foot facility is $135 million, which is approximately $985 per square-foot. The projected completion date is in 2026. 🏢
The population of Tallahassee is approximately 200,000 and the police department employees 550 people, which includes approximately 400 sworn officers. 👮🏽
Cities like Fort Lauderdale, North Port, and Hollywood had also approved plans for new police department construction projects. 🚓
Also included in the update is information on the master plan for the site which includes areas allocated to a mobility hub, community & arts, mixed use, and retail & hospitality.

Tallahassee Orthopedic Clinic launches new Physician Assistant-Certified Fellowship Program, designed to empower postgraduate PAs to excel in the specialized field of Orthopedic Surgery. 👩⚕️💉 | TOC
The TOC PA-C Fellowship Program spans 14 months and offers an immersive experience in various subspecialties within orthopedic surgery, including Foot & Ankle, Hand & Wrist, Joint Reconstruction, General Orthopedics, Spine, Pain Management, Sports Medicine, Trauma, and Pediatrics.
Throughout the program, Fellows will participate in clinical injection management, implant placements, graft preparations, and biologic procedures, gaining hands-on experience in various facets of orthopedic care. Additionally, Fellows will fulfill all criteria for the Certificate of Additional Qualifications in Orthopedic Surgery, setting them apart with an extra board certification.
Applications for the September 2024-2025 TOC PA-C Fellowship Program are open until May 10th. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply here.
