WomensNet funds several women’s business grants throughout the year worth $435,000! ‘Sustainability’ is the Business Category Grant for April.

  • Every woman entrepreneur who fills out her application is eligible for the $10,000 Amber Grant (for the month in which the application is submitted). But they have an additional $10,000 Business Category grant winner every month, too. | Apply

  • During April, a grant specific to women in the sustainability industry will be given. Women are spearheading the effort to roll back climate change, and one of the most impactful ways is through women entrepreneurs starting businesses that incorporate environmental and/or economic sustainability. | Learn More

ANITA BUSHNYAKOVA

Anita Bushnyakova is the Chief Financial Officer at Kids Incorporated of the Big Bend. | LinkedIn

  • Recently selected as 25 Women You Need to Know by Tallahassee Democrat

  • Originally from Sofia, Bulgaria, Anita moved to the U.S. in 2005 and has been a resident of Tallahassee since 2011.

  • She is a graduate of FSU with a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs and a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in Financial Management and Accountancy. She also holds an Advanced International Certificate of Education Diploma from the University of Cambridge and has been awarded with the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award.

  • She sits on several nonprofit boards related to children’s issues, community enrichment, emerging technology, and retaining young professional talent. She is also a member of the Leadership Tallahassee Class 40.

Distinguished physicist Kathleen Amm was named Director of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory. | FSU News

  • Dr. Amm, who currently serves as Director of the Magnet Division at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), will begin her tenure as lab director on May 6th.

  • The National MagLab hosts researchers from hundreds of universities, labs, and businesses from around the globe who use unique high-field magnets and instrumentation to answer pressing questions in health, energy, materials, quantum science, and more.

  • Dr. Amm will oversee more than 500 scientists/employees and more than 2,000 visitors from across the United States and dozens of countries each year.
