Florida State represents at Oscars with 'Oppenheimer' haul at Academy Awards. 🏆 | Tal Dem
The popular 2023 film "Oppenheimer" earned a whopping 7 Oscars during the 2024 Academy Awards ceremony — including Best Picture — and Florida State University alumnus John Papsidera's role as casting director contributed to the movie’s success.
The winners were announced at the 96th Oscars held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, where the film emerged as the event's biggest winner.
FSU Alum Papsidera who graduated from the School of Theatre expressed excitement, noting the significance of casting directors' recognition as crucial contributors to filmmaking.

As part of Opening Nights, 7-time Grammy award winner Blanchard will be joined by his Grammy-nominated band, the E-Collective, as well as special guests, the Turtle Island Quartet on April 5th at 7:30 PM at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall.

There will be no teardrops on this Tampa bride’s guitar, all thanks to the help of Taylor Swift’s loyal fans, also known as “Swifties.” | WFLA
Swiftie bride-to-be Emily Harris had big plans to sell her Swift-signed guitar for her wedding, “some very nice and hardcore Swifties” were against the sale.
Instead, she created a GoFundMe, so they can help raise funds for her November wedding "From one Swiftie to another, I hope your wedding meets your wildest dreams!" one generous donor wrote.
Their TikTok proposal video, with 38.4 million views and 8 million hearts, captured hearts worldwide. 💕
