TLH 200TH BIRTHDAY

City of Tallahassee celebrated its 200th birthday with the community on Mon. March 4th. With a celebration held in front of City Hall, the community gathered to wish a "happy birthday" to the place they call home. This came after the Mayor’s Bicentennial Ball and fundraiser on March 2nd. | Tal Dem

  • "Ambitious from the Beginning" is the theme for the year-long Bicentennial observance. The event featured live music from the Raa Middle School Steel Band and Florida A&M Jazz Band, as well as historians Althemese Barnes and Doug Smith.

  • "This is an exciting year of celebration for our city," Tallahassee Mayor John Dailey said while addressing the crowd of about 250.

2024 LEON WORKS EXPO

The Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality and Leon County Government are hosting the 2024 Leon Works Expo.

  • The Leon Works Expo aims to connect employers, academic institutions, and students to allow students to explore skilled trades.

  • Students will learn from individuals with local success stories and engage with employers in person to discover the career that best fits them.

  • Businesses / Exhibitors are from Health, Trade, Business and IT, and Creative industries | Reserve a spot here

Applications for the Fall 2024 Small Business Executive Program in Tallahassee are now open! This program is offered at no cost to the accepted participants.

  • The Small Business Executive Program (SBEP) helps business leaders work on their business while accommodating their busy schedules. Taught by industry experts, participants learn the Business Model Canvas and are given other tools to emerge as stronger leaders who are more strategic, effective, and ready to capitalize on business opportunities.
