Tallahassee Health Fair shares resources with mothers to close gaps in maternal healthcare⚕️| WTXL

  • According to the Leon County gap analysis in 2022, there’s a 10.4% low birth weight in babies.

  • Families from all over Leon County and over 40 vendors attended the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Baby and Family Fair. Resources included local OBGYN offices, WIC programs, and more.

  • The Fair aims to help with some challenges during pregnancy and raising a child in its early development.

  • Dana is a fearless advocate for women and justice. She is not just a mother, a lawyer, and an author of “Functional Feminism”, but also a force that challenged and defeated Florida’s long-standing, blatantly sexist tampon tax.

  • She has forged communities like the Empower Plant, aimed at propelling fellow women forward.

Sharon Robinson, Clinical Coordinator at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is one of the 13 outstanding women from an 18-county region of Northwest Florida who were selected from nominations and honored at the annual Pinnacle Awards, presented by 850 Business Magazine. | 850

  • As the clinical coordinator of acute care rehabilitation at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, she acts as a physical therapist, team manager, and comedian. Her sense of humor and infectious laugh distract patients from the discomfort that can accompany treatment.

  • She is the wife of FAMU president Larry Robinson, but she puts on no airs. Medicine, education, and family are at the heart of everything Sharon does.
